Itchiness, fever etc: Both colds and allergies cause runny nose and sneezing. Allergies also cause itchy eyes, nose, or ears; they do not cause fever. Your throat may be slightly itchy or irritated with allergies, but will not be painful to swallow like with a cold. Colds may last for ~1 week; allergy symptoms may last for a month or more during specific seasons (e.g. Spring) or last all year. Talk with your doctor.
