Is it okay to use nail cutters even though someone else used them too?

MainConcernInfection: Lots of issues, e.g. The condition & serviceability of the cutters (inanimate objects do not self-repair, only degrade over time, unlike living creatures, though also built from atoms). Also, infections can be transferred; surgical instruments are sterilized between uses. Home method?: soak/scrub cutters (alcohol &/or bleach better) making sure long enough & reaches all surfaces, then clean & oil.
