Hormone regulation: Even though you were regular for a short period of time, the long duration of your birth control usage will require probably as long as 6 months to sort out your "real" cycle. Many other causes can also disrupt your cycle: stress, weight changes, physical activity, medications. As long as you are not testing positive for pregnancy, there is no harm in simply waiting. Missed periods are not illness.
