Not unusual: I can't say "common" but it may not be rare. Asperger's lack of skill in interpersonal sensitivity could cause the lack of empathy or compassion that could allow such tendencies to develop without guilt - just operational pragmatic strategies. However, the skills for expert manipulation may be poor if you can't anticipate people's emotions. So, success may be spotty at best.
