See your doctor: Either your doctor or a specialist you can be referred to, will be able to prescribe medications that can help you detox, stay away from alcohol. There are medications that will cause you to feel ill if you drink alcohol -- this is a tough way to do it. Counseling is highly recommended; quitting without alcohol counseling is likely to fail.

Options: I agree wdr. Wong. Are you incarcerated or live in a rural area with no aa? Although physically going to an aa meeting is best - online aa is also available. See: www.Aa-intergroup.Org/directory.Php. Many people rely on a 12 step program as they can not afford inpatient rehabilitation programs. Addiction medicine specialists are very helpful. If you need to detox - do this under medical care.
