Wearing off: The effect of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) wears off relatively quickly. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) loses its effect after a dose in from 6-8 hours, the extended release form in 10-12 hours. If you do not take another dose, after those times the effect is gone.
