Do not be misled!: Any lump which is growing can be cancerous...So it needs to be checked by a doctor unless you are sure what you are dealing with. There is nothing clear cut about a ingrown hair lump...I do not know what it is, so, if you have a lump, either it is benign or cancerous. Benign lumps are temporary( a few exceptions) and they do not grow steadily. They are often due to infections(painful) or a lipoma.
