Trays from dentist: The best and safest way to whiten your teeth is to have custom fitted trays made by your dentist and use bleaching gel of carbamide peroxide (also supplied by dentist) of anywhere from 10 to 16 percent strength. Lower concentrations of bleach with longer contact time is the best way. Results vary, and tooth sensitivity is common when bleaching. Make sure to get a thorough exam prior to doing this.

Talk to your dentist: There are so many options, and you have to weigh the costs, your expectations, your time, and how much sensitivity you're willing to tolerate. Professional cleanings, to custom trays, to otc all work to different degrees.... Make sure you protect your gums while whitening.

Teeth whitening: Over the counter whitening strips can be helpful, though they only cover the front 6 teeth and some people find them cumbersome. Custom made trays made by a dentist are more effective because they use a higher concentration of whitening solution than what is available over the counter. Avoid anything that requires a rinse with an acid "pre conditioner"-it will erode the enamel, make teeth painful

Teeth whitening : You can use over the counter products like white-strips. However, they are not so effective and/or stable. OTC bleach and whitening tooth paste could be used as a supplement only. A safest and best way is a professional teeth whitening, followed by home whitening system with custom trays for the long term effect. You will be very happy with the results.
