Reply : The description you have given about the lesion and the fact that baby is born with it, sounds like a birthmark. There are different types present at birth and others may appear later. On the scalp one birth mark usually seen is nevus sebacious of jaddasohn, I have seen it in newborn nursery. Doctors who looked at it may have better idea.
