See a dermatologist: The er is not likely to help you. Sometimes such symptoms occur with overdose of pain meds. Sometimes it is a sign of severe depression. First see if you have a skin disease. Localized pain on 1 side may occur before the characteristic rash of shingles (h. Zoster). Rarely it occurs without a rash but is still localized.
