I've had a postural tremor in my hands for 2> years, and intermittent electric shock sensations that run from my neck. beta blockers aren't working.?

See Dr for eval: Sounds like you need to see a neurologist or pm&r (rehab med) doctor -- the two types who do electrodiagnostic studies -- to figure out your tremor and radiating symptoms. Medications such as beta blockers might help the tremor but are unlikely agents for nerve root pain and electric shocks. Good luck.

Lhermitte's sign: What you describe sounds like lhermitte's sign, which is the electric shock-like sensation radiating from the neck downwards, lasting for a very short duration. It's typically seen in multiple sclerosis, but can be seen in cervical spinal stenosis, pinched cervical nerve roots (as in arthritis or disc disease), electrolyte imbalances or vitamin B12 deficiency. See a doctor, maybe a neurologist.
