A member asked:

If a red, itchy rash with no contact triggers improves with antihistamines (claritin (loratadine) or low dose doxepin) does that mean it is probably eczema?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Itchy rash: Antihistamines control the itch, whether it is eczema or not, the mechanism of itching is common to a number of rashes and antihistamines only help with the end result but not with the cause. To have a proper diagnosis, you need to have yourself evaluated by a dermatologist or allergist.
