A member asked:

What is bocio?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid gland goiter: Bocio is a spanish word for goiter, which is an enlarged thyroid gland. One type of goiter is a simple goiter, and can occur for no known reason, or when the thyroid gland is not able to make enough thyroid hormone to meet the body's needs. The thyroid gland makes up for this by becoming a larger gland.
