Don't do that: You shouldn't apply bleach over the inflamed skin area due to poison ivy contact dermatitis. Bleach is an irritant and would make your skin more inflamed. Wash your skin throughly with water to rinse the resin off. You can apply an otc topical corticosteroid on the area. If it does not work, your doctor can start you on a short course of oral steroid to make it heal faster.
