A member asked:

Will a pregnancy test be accurate if i have an iud?

Yes...: The iud does not change the ability of the test to detect the pregnancy...The test detects a hormone your body makes during pregnancy--hcg--(human chorionic gonadotropin), the hormone of pregnancy. So, if you become pregnant, you make this hormone and the test detects it and shows you (+) on it...

Yes: Pregnancy tests work by detecting a hormone that is only produced when you are pregnant. Having an iud should not effect the results of the test.
