How to distinguish between a ringworm and rosea?

KOH: If you mean pityriasis rosea (which is frequently mistaken for ringworm) a dermatologist can run a KOH prep for the presence of the fungal elements that cause ringworm. Often, though, he/she can tell the difference just by looking at it.
