Visit GYN: Bleeding mid cycle like that is abnormal and needs to be evaluated. There may be dysynchrony of the endometrium or a polyp causing abnormal bleeding that may need to be removed. Although hormonal imbalance is the most common cause of irregular bleeding and can be easily treated with hormonal therapy (birth control).
