Mouthguard: You should be wearing a well made, professionally fit mouthguard to help protect your teeth and help alleviate the TMJ symptoms when you clench.

Wear a night guard: Many patients have TMJ symptoms during sports, for a variety of reasons! i recommend that they wear their TMJ splint or night guard while they play to help relax their jaw and it doubles as a sports guard to protect their teeth from a blow to the face!

Yes: Even weight lifting places undo stress on the dentition with clenching. You should be evaluated and definitely have a custom mouthpiece/mouthguard constructed for activities.

See OFP specialist: When playing any sport which strains muscle groups on one side of the body can cause the TMJ disorder. See Orofacial pain specialist for evaluation and diagnosis. Best of luck!
