Different conditiins: Charcot marie tooth syndrome is a genetic disease that effect the peripheral nerves of the lower extremities while osteochondoitis dessecans is caused by trauma to the cartilage and can cause arthritis to fom in your joints. Unrelated conditions: Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is muscle weakness and decreased muscle size, considered a hereditary, neurological disorder. Osteochondritis dissecans is a small area of bone necrosis. The bone dies because it is not getting enough blood supply.
