Avoid Impact: Biking, swimming, elliptical and other nonimpact aerobic activities are better than running and jogging. The knee sees three times your body weight with just walking so you can imagine how much more that would be with the added force of running or jogging. The less impact you put through the knee, the less stress you put on the meniscus and cartilage and the less likely you will have pain.
