Yes: Infections of the eye are possible. These can involve the conjunctiva (outer lining) or the deeper structures of the eye proper. Eye infections can be caused by bacteria, fungus and viruses. If you are concerned that you might have an active eye infection, then please seek advice / treatment from a physician or other local provider. An eye infection should not be ignored. Vision is important.
