Unilateral face: This can be caused by something damaging or irritating the peripheral nerve (cranial nerve vii, the facial nerve) or by changes in the part of the brain that innervate movement of the face. Bell's palsy, often considered to be related to viruses can be a cause, but so could something else. A neurological history and exam can sort that out.
