Heavy Menstruation: In general ibuprophen is taken for menstrual cramps. If bleeding is heavy, persistent, with clots, you might need another medication for the bleeding and another for pain. Risk of anemia due to persistent bleeding. Call your gyn asap.

Continue: Taking Ibuprofen regularly can certainly minimize your cramping pain. Passing clots happens frequently with menstrual flow. If you bleed more then 5 days seek medical advice. Also if bleeding is continuous and non remitting then seek medical help immediately. If you have any symptoms like dizziness, nausea, vomiting, exhaustion or fevers then seek immediate help.
