Ovulation failure: Some women take up to a year to have a normal period after a baby, especially if you are strictly breast feeding an infant which suppresses ovulation. But it sounds like your problem has been long standing and you should consult your ob/gyn for a thorough medical evaluation & laboratory testing. There can be many reasons for amenorrhea, or ovulation failure , but is usually hormonal.
