A member asked:

How long does the autologous bone marrow transplantation take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 4-6 weeks: There are 2 steps- the first is to collect your stem cells which usually is a 5-15 day process. Then the next step is the transplant phase which usually involves about a week of therapy, then getting your own saved cells thawed and infused back to you like a blood transfusion (over an hour for instance), then 2-4 weeks of recovery.
