Function well: The gallbladder stores bile. Without it, the bile dribbles into the intestine with larger amounts released when you eat- but not as much or robustly as with a normal gallbladder. Should be able to eat without restriction- but eat rich fatty foods slowly, to allow enough bile to mix and emulsify the fat for absorption. I place no other restrictions on my patients.

Just as with GB: After surgery , gut takes couple of wks for body to adjust , then GI function will be the same , same amount of bile salts are entering gut, all the excess water will be absorbed
