Excellent question!: Why our bodies can wipeout some infections on its own and not others is still not completely known. Why do some people infected with HIV not progress to full blown aids untreated, yet others do quickly. Why do some with hepatitis b go on to have chronic disease while others clear the infection! it likely has to do with genetic coding (or lack of it) within each individual immune system.
