Ordered no ,done yes: If you have symptoms that may require egd, best to be seen by gatroenterologist (gi md) first, then get scheduled; want to make sure it is indicated, symptoms are not from other causes, e.g. Cardiac which likely are evaluated first. The GI doc is a physician, not simply a technician. Special training for doing, and interpreting egds.
