Neck pain: Cervical spondylosis is a disorder in which there is abnormal wear on the cartilage and bones of the neck (cervical vertebrae). It is a common cause of chronic neck pain. Treatment includes physical therapy.Massage therapist, acupuncture, cold packs and heat therapy, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, opioids to use when the pain is very severe.

Cervical spondylosis: Means degenerative arthritic changes in the neck. Arthritis means inflammation of a joint, and the joints in the neck truly become arthritic with limited motion, swelling and pain. Spondylosis also includes degeneration of the discs between the vertebra, and when this happens there are sclerotic (arthritic) changes affecting the vertebral endplates. Treatment includes anti inflammatories and pt.
