Interesting case: This is unusual unless there was an underlying fracture or disruption of the inner/outer table. A ct scan with the brain and bone windows is probably a good idea. If it is in the frontal region, you want to see the location of the frontal sinus before operating in this region. Also you want to make sure there isn't some underlying tumor (ie. Eg, hyperostosis from meningioma, osteoma) as the cause.

I would: obtain a CT Scan since Calcification of a HEMATOMA following the injury is possible and the procedure to removea lot "simpler"! Hope this helps Z
