A member asked:

So i was researching endometriosis and there are different colors of it, mine is a large golf ball sized black endometriosis, what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Color matters little: The size and location, and how much associated scarring is present, matters much more than the color. Large endometriosis lesions always appear very dark because of the iron and polymerized heme pigments from past episodes of bleeding; just what heme pigments are generated and how well the iron is processed determines the hue. Glad you're proactive & hope you are successfully treated.
