Many causes: There are many causes of short term memory loss. In the younger patients ( < 50-60 years), the common causes include head injury, stroke, drug use, alcohol. In the elderly, the common causes include alzheimer's disease, stroke, parkinson's disease, and normal pressure hydrocephalus.
