It can be: Brown discharge typically implies that there was some bleeding at some point, either from the cervix or from the placenta/uterus. Brown doesn't really tell you how old the bleeding was. Definitely let your doctor know, as bleeding in pregnancy, while common, can be concerning. If your worried, don't have sex until you see your doctor and get checked out.
