Urea, aka BUN, High : Bun=blood urea nitrogen: complex mix of chemistry resulting from our body metabolizing proteins & pumped into the water outside cells. Our kidneys filter these compounds out of the blood but also pump some back in. Lab only measures current BUN concentration in water outside cells from the blood sample drawn & sent. Could be high protein intake/breakdown, kidney failure &/or dehydration, etc.
