Antivenom: Get to er asap; don't try the remedies portrayed in the movies like cutting the puncture site, sucking out the venom, etc. Try to immobilize the affected body part.

The Rattlesnake has: The deadliest venom of pit viper family in the us. If bitten stay calm. Identify snake if possible. Don't cut skin, use ice or apply tight tourniquet. Can use venom extractor within 5 min (but it's effectiveness has been questioned). Don't run – walk / be carried to a vehicle. Call 911. Have someone at scene transport you to er. Can clean wound w soap & water. Antivenin is available at many er's.
