A member asked:

I suffered a severe concussion last fall and since noticed myself stammer why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible, rare: Most of the time stammering or stuttering in adult is due to psychological factors, such as stress, embarrassment, etc. New onset after concussion may indicate a structural problem in the brain tissue as a result of the injury. If emotional stress is not a factor in the stammering, you should be evaluated by your doctor.
