A member asked:

How do a cancerous tumor and a malignant tumor differ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

One and the Same: A "tumor" is simply a growth; they can be benign (incapable of distant spread) or malignant. Stated another way, a malignant tumor is a cancer.
