Irregular Menses: Your problem is common, and typically not serious but does deserve a doctor visit and some blood work. A dramatic increase in exercise or a weight loss can cause this "secondary amenorrhea". Other causes may include thyroid problems or other hormonal issues. When periods stop for long intervals it can lead to calcium loss in bone (osteoporosis), so it's best to see your doctor for an evaluation.
