Thousands/day: Most people talking about "skipped beats" are usually referring to Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVC's). If there is nothing else wrong with your heart and you are otherwise healthy and without other symptoms, less than a few thousand beats per day is safe. Even without that number, frequent PVC's could be a sign of another heart condition, so get checked out by a doctor to be safe.
