Are any special tests needed, or can a regular doctor see me for my herpes simplex?

Regular doctor: Gential herpes can be extremely painful - if you are able to function you don't have to do anything. Your doctor could give anti-viral medication and pain medications if needed to ease your outbreak - but again if you can tolerate the symptoms you can wait and it will usually resolve within 10 to 14 days. If you have frequent outbreaks, suppressive medications could decrease the frequency.
