I do not think yu ha: White nail steak is nothing to worry about. Melanoma under the nail can develop but it is not white in color(even in an african american). Only if the strreak is black or dark brown would you have to be concerned. So you can relax and forget about it.

Melanoma : Most melanomas in the nail region appear as a black or brown /black irregular streak. However, a dermatologist should examine the area to make sure acral melanoma is not present.

White streak.: White lines can be caused by malnutrition or liver disease. Subungual melanoma usually presents with a dark line. Get it checked out. Recommend head to toe assessment of skin every year.
