Get some help!: It isn't uncommon for women to have severe - even disabling menstrual cramps, but there are some reasonable treatments available. Ibuprofen is one treatment, though it can bother some women's stomachs. The birth control pill often decreases flow, makes periods much more predictable, and greatly reduces the amount of pain associated with periods. Do see your health care provider about this.
