Timed coitus: Try to have coitus at time of ovulation- usually midcycle. Check with an ovulation predictor kit to assist with the ideal timing. Be sure that the male has had a spermanalysis and that you have open tubes- as detected with a bysterosalpingogram. Occasionally medication is needed to assist with ovulation.

Timed intercourse.: Most women have a 28 day cycle. If cycle day 1 is the first day of your period, ovulation occurs on cycle day 14. Your most fertile time is a day or two before ovulation. The estrogen level is high, and that makes the cervical mucus thin. This is the only time sperm can get through and travel up to the tube to fertilize the egg.
