Call her/him: Chagas disease can cause heart abnormalities that can lead to serious problems. Call your doctor back and tell her/him about it.

No: Untreated chagas disease can have very serious consequences. Sxs can include fatigue, generalized body aches, loose bowel movements, vomiting, rash, poor appetite; enlarged liver & spleen & inflamed brain & heart. The antiparasitic medications used to treat it include nifurtimox & benznidazole and in the us can only be obtained from the cdc. Your doctor needs to know about this.
