Culture : A bacterial culture may be helpful to guide treatment. If not improving, oral Doxycycline or Minocycline often are prescribed to treat scalp folliculitis. In addition, shampoos such as Loprox (ciclopirox) Shampoo can be prescribed. Consult a dermatology for evaluation and treatment.
