A member asked:

Hi, i recently got in a wreck and my right upper arm had pain in it waited two days, went to a clinic they gave me a kenalog (triamcinolone) shot, was that necessary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steroid: Kenalog (triamcinolone) is a steroid. Steroids are considered anti inflammatories so they may help swelling. Aspirin and Ibuprofen are non steroid anti inflammatories. Each case is different and the doctor seeing you would make the decision to the treatment indicated for your problem. If you had questions, you should have asked the doctor to explain why they were giving you a steroid shot.
