Be evaluated: Chills and night sweats can be a sign of infection somewhere in the body. Sepsis is when bacteria are in the blood stream and this can cause those symptoms. The infection could be in the urinary tract or kidneys. Also elevated blood sugar can cause excessive urination. He should be evaluated by a physician as soon as possible because he may need antibiotics.
