Family practice : You didn't mention if it was near the surgical site. It would matter. Hard to tell you if it's another hernia or something else. If it doesn't bother you it could be a lipoma which is a benign fatty tumor. If pain is present see your dr.

See your surgeon : Maybe normal, may represent a recurrent hernia. See your surgeon for an exam to find out.
