A member asked:

Can there be any way to get regular periods without birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For a minority, yes: Depends on the cause of the irregular periods. Some people who are overweight have can improve with diet and exercise (and possibly adding a medication called metformin, which is not birth control). If your bleeding is just heavy/bad cramps, taking Ibuprofen a few days before and during can lessen cramps and bleeding. Most people however need birth control. There are other options besides pills.
