A member asked:

I wanted to know when you skip a period with birth control pills, do you ovulate an egg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If one didn't miss any pills then they should not have. Skipping periods can occur b/c of the dominance of the progestin hormone effect on keeping the lining of the uterus very thin, so there is not enough tissue/lining built up to bleed during the inactive pill portion of the pack. (other things can cause, but that is common cause of skipped periods on pills).
